1. At the Customer field, enter the six-character customer code for the debit memo.
If you are uncertain of the customer code, see Navigating Net Yield - Selecting a Customer Code.
2. After selecting the appropriate customer, the customer's balance displays in the Account Balance field. A Select An Option window appears with the following options:
Scroll to the debit memo that needs to be changed and press Enter to confirm your selection.
Note: If the debit memo is from a prior year the message "Warning: Prior Year Memo !!! Space Bar to Continue" will appear.
Note: You may only make changes to debit memos issued within the current year.
Note: You cannot delete the debit memo if a payment has been applied to the debit memo.
3. Command options will appear:
Select Change. You may now make edits to the Debit Amount, Description, or Account Number fields. (If commissions are set to yes in Ledger Options you may also make changes to the Sales Rep and Broker fields.) Use the arrow keys to navigate between fields and press Enter when finished.
Note: The Customer, Date Received, and Reference Number fields may not be changed. If this information is incorrect, you will need to delete the debit memo and re-enter it into the system.
4. Command options will appear:
Select Update. Your changes have now been saved. You will also be given the opportunity to print the debit memo. Select Yes to print the debit memo. Command options will appear allowing you to print or choose from a set of other print options.
Important: Your changes will not be saved unless you select Update.
